Where this can take you.

A CNA role is a beginning, not a ceiling. Many of our nurses, managers, and leaders started exactly where you're starting now.

  1. 1

    Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

    Starting point — about 3 weeks of training (Mon–Fri, 8:00a–4:30p)

    Hands-on resident care, the foundation of everything that follows.

    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    ~12 months of nursing school

    Expanded clinical responsibility, medication management, supervision of CNAs.

  3. 3

    Registered Nurse (RN)

    2–4 years (ADN or BSN)

    Full nursing assessment, care planning, leadership of clinical teams.

    Nurse Manager

    Typically 2+ years as an RN, plus leadership training

    Manage a unit, coach staff, own outcomes.

  5. 5

    Director of Nursing (DON)

    Years of nursing leadership + often BSN/MSN

    Lead clinical operations across an entire facility.

    Administrator

    Licensed Nursing Home Administrator credential

    Full operational leadership of a facility.

    Healthcare Leadership

    Regional and system-level roles

    Lead multiple sites, shape strategy, mentor the next generation.
